Joseph E. Barney Scholarship - Contact Brother Dedric Dennist, Sr. & Brother Marvin Jones, Jr.

Building bridges is not just a colloquialism for Mr. Xavier Dominic Ntamere–it is a reality that he made happen as a culmination to ascend to the rank of Eagle Scout on April 30th, 2022. His impressive 40ft long bridge named the Rites of Passage Bridge at Jameson Camp took over 760+ unpaid hours of service, raising $10,000 in support for his project, and over 80 volunteers over three years to complete. The high school senior maintains a 3.8 cumulative grade point average and has his sights set on Howard University in the fall of 2023 to study Civil Engineering.  Xavier has lettered in three sports and has been inducted into the National Honor Society. To honor his late grandfather, Brother Joseph E. Barney (Gamma Rho ’72), who was highly influential in his development, the brothers of the Indiana District presented Xavier with an award congratulating him on his Eagle Scout honor as well as announced that the collegiate and alumni chapters of Indiana would come together to support a scholarship of at least $1906.00 to present to him at the Indiana District Conference for his college endeavors. Brothers are asked to contribute to this scholarship campaign. The Chapter and Brother who make the highest contribution will receive a special award. All donors will be recognized during the Gala with special recognition as we present the Scholarship to Mr. Xavier Ntamere. If you are interested in donating contact Brother Marvin Q. Jones, Jr. More information will be provided about methods of donation.
